For Australian small businesses · Built by someone who ran one for 21 years
The compliance your business
has to do, worked out for you.
Tell Komiti about your business once. It works out which rules actually apply to you — the dates, the licences, the things that quietly change every July — and keeps watching so you don't have to. Every answer links to the ATO, Fair Work or state page it came from, so you can check us.
Set up your business →Free while we build — founding businesses lock A$249/yr before billing ever starts. Takes about five minutes; enter your ABN and most of it fills itself in. Or try any of the free tools below first; nothing needs an account.
What you get when you set up
Your compliance calendar
You don't enter your obligations — Komiti derives them. A NSW cafe with three casuals gets BAS dates, Payday Super, STP, the award review, workers comp, the fire safety statement, the FSS certificate and daily food records, each showing which authority requires it. Including the lease option date, which is the most expensive date in most small businesses and the one least likely to be written down anywhere.
Your document vault
Certificates of currency, licences, registrations — private to your account, stored in a region-pinned Oceania data centre. Add the expiry date and it becomes a watched date on your dashboard automatically. The paperwork that proves you're compliant is always wanted at the worst possible moment; this is so you're not hunting for it then.
Answers that stop hedging
Ask a question and the answer already knows your industry, your staff, your GST position — so it answers for you rather than covering every possible business at once. Every answer cites the source and links to it.
How Komiti helps
Setup Checklist
Answer a few questions about your business and get a plain-English checklist — ABN, structure basics, GST registration, licences, insurance, WHS, and hiring steps if you're taking on staff. Every answer links to the ATO, ASIC or Service NSW page it came from, so you can check it yourself.

Start the checklist →Business Q&A
Ask a plain-English question about GST and BAS, superannuation and Payday Super, ASIC obligations or WHS basics — get a cited answer grounded in real ATO/ASIC/Fair Work guidance, and a clear steer on when you actually need an accountant or a lawyer instead.
Included with Setup Checklist
Ask a question →Hiring pack
Someone starts Monday. Komiti writes the offer letter, the statements you're legally required to hand over on day one, and the list of what to collect — ready to copy. Since January 2025 intentional underpayment is a criminal offence, so we send you to Fair Work's own calculator to confirm the rate first rather than guessing it for you.

Build a hiring pack →Structure check
Run a trust with a corporate trustee, or more than one entity? A business name can quietly land on the wrong ABN and nothing tells you. It happened to Komiti's founder and took five weeks to find by hand. Enter your ABNs and Komiti reads the public register and flags it in ten seconds.

Check your business names →Also available, separately: AI-assisted strata AGM and committee minutes from a meeting recording — Komiti's original product, priced per meeting. A SWMS generator is coming later.
Hospitality
Built from 21 years actually running one — not compliance theory.
Hospitality
Daily food safety records, the Food Safety Supervisor certificate, liquor conditions and RSA cards, the annual fire safety statement, the award — and the lease option nobody reminds you about.
Komiti for Hospitality →Trades & Services
Cleaning and beauty are built from Peter's own operating experience running each. Trades is our newest addition, built the same disciplined way but verified against the regulator rather than from personal experience.
Cleaning
No licence to renew, so no regulator reminds you of anything. Certificates of currency, SDS registers, safe work procedures, staff checks — and a lapsed certificate means you're stood down, not fined.
Komiti for Cleaning →Beauty & Clinics
Every treatment answers to a different regulator. Skin penetration notification, council inspections, infection control, practitioner registrations — and cosmetic advertising rules that changed on 2 September 2025.
Komiti for Beauty →Trades & Construction
Contractor licensing thresholds, Home Building Compensation cover, SWMS before high-risk work, award wage classification, and the Security of Payment clock most trades only learn about after missing it.
Komiti for Trades →Why this exists
Compliance admin is a genuine source of stress for small business owners, not just an inconvenience — recent Australian surveys have found nearly a third of small business owners have considered giving up the business entirely because of it, and more than four in ten report high stress directly tied to regulation and paperwork. Most of that stress comes from not knowing what's actually required, not from the requirements themselves being unreasonable.
Komiti exists to remove the not-knowing part. It explains what's actually needed in plain English, organises the documents and dates that come out of it, and tells you clearly the moment something needs an accountant's or a lawyer's judgement instead of a checklist. It doesn't try to replace either one — it makes the conversation you eventually have with them shorter and cheaper, because you're already organised.
How we handle the legal and tax side
- Komiti gives general information and helps you organise records. It is not a registered tax agent, not a lawyer, and every answer says so.
- Komiti will never tell you what your specific tax liability is, which business structure you should choose, or draft or review a bespoke contract — that's the exact point where you need a registered tax agent, accountant or solicitor, and we'll say so plainly rather than guess. (Assembling an official government template — an offer letter, a casual conversion notice — with your details filled in is a document tool, not legal drafting; we're always explicit about which one you're getting.)
- Every generated document — a SWMS, a set of minutes — is watermarked AI-assisted draft, verify before finalising, and nothing is final until a person checks and signs it.
- We keep the source recording or files, the AI draft, every edit, and a record of who approved what and when.
- Every draft stays a draft until a person signs off — Komiti doesn't take on the liability that already sits with your accountant, lawyer or tax agent, and signing off doesn't shift it either.
- For meetings, we give you a consent script to read before recording, whatever the meeting type.
Common questions
- Is this instead of an accountant or a lawyer?
- No. Komiti gets you organised and answers general questions — it explicitly stops short of anything that counts as personal tax, legal or financial advice, and tells you when that's what you actually need. Think of it as making sure the conversation with your accountant or lawyer, when you have it, is quick and cheap instead of a fishing expedition.
- What happens when the rules change?
- That's the whole point of it. Award rates move every July, Payday Super started on 1 July 2026, casual conversion changed in August 2025 — Komiti watches for the ones that affect a business shaped like yours and tells you what to actually do about it, with a link to the regulator's own page so you can check us.
- What if you get something wrong?
- Every answer is linked to the government page it came from, so you can check it in one click rather than take our word for it. Where we can't verify something we say so plainly instead of guessing — the hiring tool won't tell you an award pay rate, for instance, because we don't hold that data and a wrong rate is a real underpayment. It sends you to Fair Work's own calculator instead.
- Where does my business information live?
- Your account, business profile and vault documents are held in Cloudflare storage pinned to the Oceania region — the database reports Sydney, and the vault bucket is created in Oceania. The website itself is served from Cloudflare's global edge, and anything you type into an AI tool goes to Anthropic in the US to generate the answer. The security page sets out where each piece of data actually lives and what Komiti doesn't have yet; the privacy policy names every processor.
- What if a draft has errors?
- Assume it will, at least small ones. That's why everything is watermarked AI-assisted draft, verify before finalising. You check it, fix anything that's off, then approve and sign. That check isn't optional — it's the reason we can hand you a draft in the first place.
